How to choose a tennis table for the street
Ping pong tables are divided into two categories:
1. For outdoor use - called all-weather tables
All-weather tennis tables are made from materials that do not respond to changes in temperature and humidity. The most popular of these are melamine composite. Moisture-resistant tables with a tabletop made of moisture-resistant plywood glued with formaldehyde adhesives are also available.
Outdoor tennis tables are amateur.
Indoor tables can be either amateur or professional. For the tabletop, specially treated particle board (chipboard) is used. Its thickness for amateurs is from 4 mm to 16 mm, and its weight is 45-70 kg. Amateur tables can be equipped with a metal profile around the perimeter, and for ease of transportation they can be equipped with wheels.
Professional class tennis tables differ from others in meeting the requirements of the ITTF (table tennis federation). They are equipped with a tabletop thickness of 25, 28 and 30 mm, and weight – from 100 to 200 kg. Its surface can only be matte, the color is green or blue. All professional tables are equipped with a metal profile around the perimeter and have excellent rigidity. The transport wheels are equipped with locks, and the legs must have height adjustment. Professional tables are used for table tennis competitions and training.
